Merry Christmas from all of us at Mission:180!!!

It’s hard to believe it’s Christmas time again. The years go by faster and faster. It’s at this time of year we take time to consider the gifts in our lives, to think about the blessings, and to give thanks to God for the greatest gift ever given to mankind, the gift of His Son, Jesus. Luke 2:8-14 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was a great multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

One of my personal favorites. Us Sheppard’s played a role back then!! The message of the angel has been bringing peace and hope from that day until today. Lives are changed, hearts are mended, people are set free, because of Jesus. We have peace with God! This is the good news of Christmas! He is Immanuel! God with us. I like to make that personal, He is God with me!  All because some 2000 years ago, God stepped into His own creation. As a baby. The greatest gift we will ever receive! 

We here at Mission:180 hope and pray that you know and feel the peace of God and the joy of this Christmas season as you gather with friends and family to celebrate and observe your Christmas season traditions. Those favorite baked goods, Christmas eve and Christmas morning routines that never change, from year to year, generation to generation, those favorite songs and stories. We wish you all a very merry Christmas! From our homes, from our hearts to you and yours, may this be your best Christmas ever!

As you take time to celebrate, we would ask you to consider making a special year end contribution to Mission:180. We need help to end this calendar year well. We have some specific projects that need attention, and our general budget is just not where it needs to be on a month to month basis. Your special contribution can help take the strain off of the budget and free up funds for some much needed projects at Mission:180’s Children’s Homes. Perhaps you’ve been considering becoming a part of Mission:180’s monthly donor base. We desperately need to see an increase in pledged monthly giving. We also have 11 child sponsorship spots open. Each spot is $40.00 per month. Each child has 4 spots, because it is a total cost of $160.00 per month to sponsor a child.
